Sacred Hand Drum For Tantric Ritual & Sound
This damru is a small two-headed pellet drum, made from wood with leather drum heads. It is often used in rituals by Tibetan Buddhists to invoke sacred sounds and trance, to "cut through the ego", a smaller version of the Chod drum.
It is completely hand-carved and handcrafted by a small family co-op of Tibetan refugees in Nepal. The drum heads measure 4" to 4 1/4 " in diameter.
