Fair Trade Day & Mother's Day 2011
What is fair trade?
In a nutshell, fair trade is an economic and social discipline that allows those in developing countries to avoid blatant exploitation and be paid a sustainable amount for their work, may it be harvesting coffee beans in Central America or sewing shirts in India. Some call it "leveling the playing field", while some would say that it used to be called "the right thing to do". This May 14th MarcoSun stands with The World Fair Trade Organization in celebrating World Fair Trade Day and the positive impact of fair trade both in countless communities as well as the global village.
Of course, one cannot talk about celebrations in May without mentioning Mother's Day. We have many items that would be perfect for that special loved one in your life. Check out our beautiful selection of handcrafted statues such as the Nepalese Loving Statue above. We also have a great selection of decorative boxes, most of which have been made by Tibetan refugees in Nepal. Also, at both of our St. Louis locations we carry an impressive amount of high-quality, sterling sliver jewelry from Nepal and India.

We are excited to be apart of global change and we hope you can join us!
Namaste!
